xeric to mesoxeric

continental Eurasian, with some subspecies in isolated regions

Scabiosion argenteae, Festucion vaginatae but in Transylvania also in Festucion valesiacae, in Trascau Mountains (Cheile Turzii, Cluj county) and Iron Gates area (Mehedinti county) in Stipo pulcherrimae-Festucetalia pallentis

R16, R64, R34 habitats

 

 

A steppe representative of the gymnosperms is the genus Ephedra; this species is also very rare in Romania.

Pictures taken on 9th of August 2006, in Agigea seaside sand dunes nature reservation, Constanta county.
